Create and customize your logo or pattern embossed & debossed on tin box or tinplate products

Embossed and debossed designs

Embossed and debossed designs are popular decoration for tinplate packaging which is to create raised or recessed logo or pattern on the surface of tin containers to improve your brand recognition. Tinspkg provides logo, pattern, text embossed and debossed customization service on custom printed tin packaging.

Our graphic designer prepares the embossed artwork (logo, pattern, text) and designs must be converted into a 3D relief pattern suitable for stamping. Embossing tooling takes generally 3-7 days which depends on the size and complexity.

Debossed or embossed logo and texture are engraved directly on a steel embossing mold constructed by male die (pushes the tinplate upward – raised area) and female die (receives the pushed metal, ensuring accuracy) by CNC mold-making machines. This mold is reusable for mass production but adds an initial tooling cost. One embossing mold is only applicable for specific tin box and can’t share to other size of tin box.

Stamping

The embossing should be aligned with the printed artwork. Accurate positioning is important to realize embossing match the printed logo and pattern perfectly. Printed tinplate sheet is placed between the male and female embossing dies on stamping machine. A hydraulic or mechanical press applies high pressure, the selected design is pressed into the metal, creating a 3D raised effect.

After embossing, the sheet is cut into blanks and blanks are formed into tin box parts after following stamping machines. Care is taken so the embossing stays intact without distortion.

Logo and Pattern embossing effect and mold

We combine embossing with printing, there are mainly 2 types:

Registered embossing

The embossed area aligns precisely with the printed design. For example, a printed logo that is raised.

Blind embossing

no printing ink on the embossed area, only the raised metal texture.

Flat embossing (single-level embossing)

the design is raised to one uniform height and often used for logos, small patterns, or text

Deep embossing (Multi-level embossing)

Different parts of the design are raised to varying depths, creating 3D effect

Highly detailed, with curves and shapes resembling real objects such as faces, flowers, mascots, etc.
